WYSA is happy to announce our new hire for Director of Coaching for our revived Bluegrass Soccer Club!
Trip Rogers has been selected as the new Director of Coaching for the revival of Bluegrass Soccer Club. With an extensive tenure within the club, having fulfilled roles such as Head Coach, Goalkeeping Director, Technical Director, and Girls Director of Coaching for nine years (2006-2015), he eagerly anticipates the opportunity to instill values of teamwork, self-discipline, and respect through the beautiful game of soccer. Bluegrass Soccer Club is dedicated to fostering an environment where youth soccer players are developed to their fullest potential on the field and inspired to become high-achieving, productive members of the community. The club's goal is to nurture hard-working teams that excel technically, exhibit tactical intelligence, persevere in the face of challenges, and embrace the spirit of competition.
Rogers recently advanced to the position of Associate Head Coach with the Centre women's soccer coaching staff in the winter of 2024, following his arrival in the spring of 2022.
Bringing with him 15 years of coaching and developmental expertise, Rogers most recently served as head coach at the University of Findlay, a Division II institution in Ohio. Under his guidance, the Oilers achieved a commendable 21-3-5 record, securing a Great Midwest Conference Tournament championship despite the challenges posed by the pandemic-shortened 2021 spring season. Rogers also guided 13 of his student-athletes to All-Conference honors while attaining a no. 24 national ranking for the team in both seasons.
Prior to his time at Findlay, Rogers spent five years as an assistant coach at Morehead State University, where he excelled as the recruiting coordinator and goalkeeping trainer. Additionally, he led the Midway College program from 2010 to 2015, achieving notable success in student retention, team GPA, new student enrollment, and community service. Rogers initiated his collegiate coaching career at Georgetown College in Kentucky, serving as a men’s soccer assistant from 2008 to 2010.
Alongside his collegiate coaching commitments, Rogers made significant contributions to the Kentucky Youth Soccer Association’s Olympic Development Program from 2006 to 2024.
