November 15, 2011 - Four more Bluegrass 97B White players were selected by for the Kentucky ODP teams following recent tryouts. Included in the 1997 team is Jackson Napier. Selected for the 1996 were Jarrod Franchino, Edwin Garcia and Keaton Kennedy. Congratulations to all.
October 1, 2011 - Over the summer, six players from Bluegrass 97B White team were selected for the ODP Region II training camp in Kansas City as part of the 18-member Kentucky team. The players included Jack Batman, Zac Blaydes, Thomas Hayes, Nolan Moser, Corey Smith and Noah Valencia. In addition, Zac Blaydes has been named to the Region II extended pool team.
July 1, 2011 - Bluegrass 97B White would like to welcome our new coach as well as four players for the upcoming season. Marcel Simo has been with Bluegrass SC for several years and holds a USSF National "A" license. Our new players include Nolan Moser and Garrett Pritchert, along with Corey Smith and Trevor Watkins who return to the team this year.
June 4, 2011 - Bluegrass 97B White fell today 3-2 in the State Cup semi-finals to evenutal state champion Lexington FC. In an exciting, tight game played in 95º heat, BSC tied the game with 4 minutes left only to see LFC score in the final minute. Congratulations to Bluegrass 97B White on a great season.
May 30, 2011 - Bluegrass 97B White moved on to the Kentucky State Cup semi-final game today following a 0-0 tie with United 97 International. Both teams finished undefeated and moved on to next Saturday's games. Bluegrass 97 White will play Lexington FC while Javanon Black and United International meet in the other semi-final.
May 15, 2011 - Bluegrass 97 White clinched the Kentucky Select Soccer League Division 1 Championship today with a 1-0 victory over Mockingbird Premier. In completing their undefeated run, the team allowed only three goals in the ten game league play. Congratulations to the team as they prepare for State Cup play.
April 15, 2011 - Congratulations to the five Bluegrass 97 White players that have been named to the Kentucky Olympic Development Program (ODP) team. The players on the Kentucky 1997 ODP team include Jack Batman, Zac Blaydes, Thomas Hayes and Noah Valencia. Jason Murillo has been named to the 1998 ODP team. In addition, Fonyam Atanga continues as a coach of the Kentucky 1998 Boys ODP team.
March 20, 2011 - The Bluegrass 97 White opened their season this weekend by defended their title in the Kick in the Bluegrass tournament. The team defeated United 97 Premier by a 1-0 score followed by a 5-1 victory over the Bluegrass 97 Blue. The championship match with United 97 International ended in a hard fought, evenly matched 0-0 draw. Bluegrass 97 White earned the title on goal differential. Congratulations on the team's first tournmament victory of the Spring season.
October 23, 2010 - The BSC 97 White wrapped up their first Midwest Regional League (MRL) season today with a 3-1 victory over FC Pride (IN). The team performed solidly in a very strong division, finishing in the middle of the grouping at 2-3-3. Two of the league losses were to the CUP Crew Gold (#6 nationally) and Carmel United Soccer Club (#10 nationally), with the other being a late 1-0 defeat to Grand Rapids (MI) Crew FC. The team was very competitive in every game, showed continuous improvement and is looking forward to the Spring MRL season. In addition, BSC 97 White played seven teams ranked #1 in their state during the Fall season.
October 17, 2010 - The BSC 97 White won its' third tournament of the Fall season today at the Lexington Invitational Tournament with a 2-0 victory over the LFC 98B Premier team in the championship game. Earlier in the tournament, BSC 97 White had defeated the CUSA (OH) Courage Premier 7-1 and the LSA (KY) East 98 Boys 8-0. BSC 97 White tied LFC 97 Premier (ranked #1 in Kentucky) in a hard fought match 2-2 on Sunday morning which allowed BSC 97 White to move to the finals on goal differential. September 6, 2010 - Playing in an extremely strong bracket, the BSC 97 White team turned in a solid performance in the Mead Cup 5-Star Division this weekend. The team finished 1-1-1, with a tie versus Century United (ranked #1 in PA West); a loss to tournament finalist Concordia Royal (ranked #1 in Ohio North); and a victory over FC Pride (ranked #2 in Indiana). August 30, 2010 - Led by strong defense and goaltending, the Bluegrass Soccer Club 97 White captured their second tournament of the season with a 2-1 victory over the Brentwood 97 Boys Elite (TN) in the Brentwood Invitational in Nashville this weekend. Thank you to everyone associated with the Brentwood Soccer Club for hosting a great tournament at their terrific soccer complex. August 15, 2010 - The Bluegrass Soccer Club 97 White team won the Bluegrass Cup today with a 4-1 victory over United International 97 Boys. Earlier in the tournament, the BSC 97 White team had defeated the Commonwealth 97 Gold team and a strong BSC 97 Blue team in a come-from-behind 2-1 game. August 14, 2010 - Fonyam Atanga, coach of the Bluegrass Soccer Club 97 White team, was awarded the "Boys Select Coach of the Year" today by Kentucky Youth Soccer for his efforts with the team and the ODP progam. Fonyam, in his second year with the BSC 97 White, has helped the team advance each session to where they are competing in the Midwest Regional League First Division this Fall. Additionally, Fonyam earned his USSF "B" license earlier this year. Congratulations to Fonyam. (Click here to see photo)
